Plain statements about what the checker keeps, what it never shows, and how long it is kept.

  1. Your address travels from your browser to ProtectDade’s server in a POST request body — never in the page URL.
  2. ProtectDade’s server then queries Miami-Dade County’s public GIS services — where the authoritative records live — to answer the question.
  3. The address never appears in the browser URL or in the shareable result, and it is never shown anywhere public on this site.
  4. For a check that resolves to a County address point, ProtectDade’s server may keep the address you submitted, the County-matched address, and the exact coordinates of the matched point, together with the result (tier, corridor, jurisdiction, ZIP code), a keyed address fingerprint, an anonymous per-visit session ID, campaign parameters, the referring site’s domain, a device category, and timing. ProtectDade keeps this to provide the checker, to understand which areas of Miami-Dade are being checked, to improve ProtectDade, and to analyze aggregate community interest.
  5. A checked address is treated as property interest — an area someone looked up — not as the location of the person checking.
  6. Residential addresses are not displayed publicly, are never included in share output, and are not sold or given to advertisers. Public analytics use aggregated geographic information — ZIP codes and hexagonal map cells — never street addresses.
  7. To count unique properties and repeat interest, the server records a keyed fingerprint: an HMAC-SHA-256 value derived from the normalized address and a server-held secret. The fingerprint does not reveal the address by itself; because ProtectDade holds the secret, it does allow ProtectDade to recognize when the same property is checked again.
  8. Hexagonal map cells (H3 resolutions 7, 8, and 9 — roughly 5 km², 0.7 km², and 0.1 km²) are derived from the matched point so that interest can be mapped by area; the finest cells are used only in ProtectDade’s private analysis.
  9. The interactive map loads its basemap from OpenFreeMap, built on OpenStreetMap data. When the map loads, those third-party servers receive ordinary network information (such as your IP address and browser details) and the map-tile requests for the area shown. The map is optional to your result: if it does not load, your result is unaffected, and your typed address is never sent to a map provider.
  10. If you sign up for updates, we keep your email, optional first name, your consent record, and — if you sign up from a result — only that result’s alignment, tier, and ZIP code. Never the address you checked, its folio, or its coordinates.
  11. Retention: submitted and matched addresses and exact coordinates are deleted automatically 12 months after the check. Address-free analytics (ZIP code, map cells, fingerprint, tier, corridor, campaign fields, engagement events) are kept up to 24 months and reviewed at least annually; older rows are deleted. Subscriber records are kept until removal is requested. ProtectDade is an informational project and does not operate customer support; its public channel is Instagram.
  12. Shared results never include your address. The share text and result card carry jurisdiction context — the municipality name (for example “UNINCORPORATED MIAMI-DADE” or a city name) — along with the alignment and tier.
